Managing Stress

How do you manage stress?

I ask because I am not sure I have come close to mastering this portion of my life.

Sometimes, it feels like I don't have enough time to complete tasks thoroughly and efficiently. But this could be a time management issue, too. Time management and stress management probably go hand in hand.

I know I felt much better and 'calmer' when I would wake up (naturally, of course) at sunrise, slowly stretch, and then crawl out of bed to start my day. There was something calming about waking up naturally and well-rested.  Wait. What?  Well-rested??  Moving on.

Anyway, I would throw a load of laundry in the washing machine, then get dressed and ready for my day. I would move onto the kitchen and do some small tasks there, eat or drink my breakfast while watching the latest on TV, be it news, YouTube, etc. By the time I was finished with that, the laundry would switch to the dryer. This didn't feel like work, and there was no stress to it whatsoever. But am I doing this now? No.

For some reason, I cannot get myself organized to be organized.  And not being organized makes my stress levels increase.

I have a handful of people counting on me — one is my dog, Lucy — but family is family, right?

I wonder if the "counting on me" part is causing some friction and inconsistencies in my stress and time management concerns?  This could be.

Incorporating walks back into my mornings and evenings would be helpful.

Organization is helpful for me to manage stress, so making time to get organized would be helpful too.

I know this is a bunch of ramblings, but I needed to get it out there so I can be more accountable and report back to you with my accomplishments.

Stay focused, Andrea.  Stay focused.  You can do it!

Be happy, healthy and safe!
