Monday Motivation

A Fresh Start with Intention

Mondays often get a bad rap — “the hardest day of the week,” some call it. But what if we changed that perspective? What if we saw Monday not as the start of another long grind but as a blank canvas, an opportunity to reset and refocus on what matters most?

This morning, as I sat down with my tea and a few moments of quiet before the day began (realistically, about 10 minutes), I thought about the week ahead. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by a long to-do list, I reminded myself: You don’t have to tackle everything today. You just have to start.

Starting can mean different things for all of us. It might mean setting a simple goal: drinking more water, moving your body for 10 minutes, or organizing your thoughts in a journal. It might mean making peace with something that happened last week and deciding to let it go. I still struggle with the "making peace" part but am getting better every day.  Practice. Practice. Practice.

For me, this Monday is about intention. I’m choosing to focus on what brings joy and progress instead of perfection. Today, that looks like prioritizing self-care, taking a mindful walk with Lucy (she loves those belly rub stops!), and creating space for gratitude—even if it's just pausing to notice the crisp morning air or the comfort of a favorite sweater.

Your Monday doesn’t have to be perfect or overly productive to be meaningful. It just needs to begin with you—your mindset, your goals, your peace. Take a deep breath, step forward, and remember: every big journey starts with small, intentional steps.

Here’s to making this week one of purpose, joy, and progress—one day at a time. What’s one thing you’ll do today to set the tone for your week?

Be happy, healthy and safe!
